FAQs

  • Rewilding is a term originally used to describe a conservation approach aimed at restoring and conserving natural ecosystems by reintroducing native species, removing invasive species, and allowing natural processes to occur with minimal human intervention. It involves restoring habitats to their natural state, promoting biodiversity, and creating balanced ecosystems that can sustain themselves over time.

    Rewilding aims to create self-sustaining, biodiverse ecosystems that closely resemble their natural state, providing numerous ecological, economic, and social benefits. You can think of wholistic rewilding in much the same way: an approach aimed at returning to your inner knowing and authentic self.

  • Mindfulness is a mental practice that involves paying deliberate, non-judgmental attention to the present moment. It encourages a heightened awareness of thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations.

    At its core, mindfulness is about observing our inner and outer experiences without getting caught up in them. This means recognizing and accepting current feelings and thoughts as they are, without trying to change or judge them. By focusing on the here and now, mindfulness helps cultivate a sense of calm, improve emotional regulation, and gain deeper insights into patterns and behaviors.

    Incorporating mindfulness into daily life can enhance overall well-being, reduce stress, and increase capacity for self-compassion.

  • Somatic healing is an approach to inner work that focuses on the connection between the mind and body, recognizing that psychological, emotional, and relational issues can manifest as physical symptoms or patterns of tension in the body. Somatic practices are exploratory and based in the present moment. They involve working with the body's innate wisdom and intelligence to facilitate healing and transformation on a wholistic level.

    Somatic work helps individuals to cultivate greater awareness, connection, vitality, and presence.

  • Trauma-informed refers to an approach that recognizes and responds to the impact of trauma on individuals' lives, behaviors, and well-being. It involves understanding how past experiences of trauma can affect a person's mental, emotional, and physical health, as well as their relationships and interactions with others.

    My trauma- informed practice includes:

    1. Prioritizing physical and emotional safety where individuals are safe to express their boundaries and needs without fear of judgment or harm;

    1. Building trust through transparency by clearly communicating about services, boundaries, expectations, and commitments.

    2. Respecting your autonomy and empowering you to make informed choices about your own life. This involves offering options and alternatives, seeking consent before taking action, and supporting you in advocating for your own needs and preferences.

    3. Engaging in our relationship in ways that foster collaboration, respect, and resilience. Your perspective will always be recognized, heard, and valued.

    4. Honoring your unique constellation of identities and backgrounds. I will recognize and respect your unique cultural, ethnic, and socio- economic identities and how these may play an influence in your experiences of trauma and healing. This includes sensitivity to cultural differences, avoiding assumptions, and adapting services to meet the needs of diverse populations.

    5. Continued training, supervision, and practice with others who are experts in the field of trauma care.
